Dr. Derek Brown

Derek Brown PictureDerek oversees Grace Bible Fellowship's young adult ministry, Grace Campus Ministries, our book publishing ministry (GBF Press), and online presence (website and social media).

Originally from Montana, Derek received his undergraduate degree from the Master's College (Santa Clarita, CA) and his M.Div. and Ph.D. from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (Louisville, KY). Derek has experience in full time youth ministry and has held various lay leadership positions in children's ministry, men's ministry, young adult ministry, and music ministry. He previously served as the managing editor for the Journal of Discipleship and Family Ministry and has made contributions to academic and popular books, including Reformation Faith: Theology and Exegesis in the Protestant Reformation (UK: Paternoster, 2014)How We Got the Bible (Rose Publishing, 2015), and Rescued by Grace (Xlibris, 2015). His is the author of How to Pray for Your Pastor (GBF Press, 2016) and Strong and Courageous: The Character and Calling of Mature Manhood (GBF Press, 2017).  Derek has also published book reviews and articles for The Gospel Coalition, Family Ministry Today, The Journal of Discipleship and Family Ministry, The Journal of Biblical Manhood and WomanhoodCredo Magazine, and has presented papers at the Evangelical Theological Society national meetings. He formally served as adjunct professor of Christian Theology at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and currently serves as a professor of theology at The Cornerstone Bible College and Seminary in Vallejo, California. Derek and his wife have three children and love to spend time reading, playing sports, riding bikes, and exploring the outdoors. When not spending time with his family, Derek can be found running or cycling around the Bay Area.
